Responsibilities

• Secure containers by attaching hooks to containers, using control levers to pull containers onto the truck bed, securing straps and hand tarps as necessary.
• Provide distinguished level of service through courteous and expeditious customer service in all aspects of refuse operations.
• Exhibit a positive attitude towards company, customer, and municipal goals.
• Answer customer questions and direct them to Customer Service or Sales Representatives for additional information.
• Operate compaction and lift equipment on the vehicle.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections as outlined by Waste Pro procedures and DOT guidelines.
• Complete Safety Lane activities and DVIRs daily according to Waste Pro safety lane guidelines.
• Inspect under hood, check under carriage, check fluid levels, and inflate tires.
• Maintain a clean truck and wash the exterior weekly.
• Inspect/Clean Truck: Lift hood, inspect under the hood, walk around and check under carriage; pump gas, check fluid levels, and inflate tires - Use air gauge, dipstick for levels, and gas pump nozzle for gas fill.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A or B CDL for the state where the position is located.
• Clean driving record.
• At least 21 years old.
• Understanding of refuse collection policies, procedures, guidelines, and practices.
• Knowledge of Department of Transportation and State requirements for commercial motor vehicle operators.
• Normal hearing and vision with or without correction.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, dispatchers, supervisors, understand highway and traffic signals, and make legible entries on paperwork.

Other Job Responsibilities

• Attend and participate in corporation-sponsored training courses as assigned.
• Stay updated on current technology used by Waste Pro.
• Perform any additional job duties assigned by the supervisor.
