Responsibilities
- Operate articulated rock trucks to transport dirt, rock, aggregate, and other materials throughout construction job sites.
- Operate additional heavy equipment as needed to support project operations.
- Work with excavator, dozer, grader, and loader operators to maintain efficient material movement and production.
- Operate equipment in accordance with company procedures, project requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Follow established haul routes and communicate with crew members to support safe and efficient job site operations.
- Complete daily equipment inspections and accurately document findings.
- Keep assigned equipment clean and in good working condition.
- Identify equipment maintenance needs and communicate repair requests to the appropriate supervisor.
- Participate in daily crew meetings and project planning activities.
- Assist with additional duties as assigned to support project operations when equipment is not in use.
Requirements
- Experience operating articulated rock trucks or similar heavy construction equipment.
- Working knowledge of heavy civil construction, earthwork, and material hauling operations.
- Familiarity with electronic equipment controls and operating systems.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and the ability to safely maneuver equipment in active construction environments.
- Able to interpret basic site plans, work instructions, and equipment operating guidelines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Able to work outdoors in a variety of weather and environmental conditions.
- Able to perform the physical demands of the position, including climbing on and off equipment and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Five or more years of experience operating articulated rock trucks or other heavy construction equipment.
Experience working on heavy civil, roadway, earthwork, or site development projects is preferred.
