What You’ll Do
- Teach and support students using Micro:bits, block coding platforms, and introductory robotics concepts
- Help guide students into more advanced robotics, including FTC robot design, programming, and strategy
- Assist with or lead in-person classes at various LEAGUE locations throughout San Diego
- Support students during builds, testing, and troubleshooting sessions
- Help teach and refine our existing robotics curriculum
- Contribute to the development of new lessons, challenges, and projects
- Collaborate with other volunteers and instructors to create a positive, inclusive learning environment
- Volunteers with experience or interest in robotics, programming, engineering, or STEM education
- Familiarity with Micro:bits, block coding, Java, or FTC robotics is a plus (but not required—we’ll help you learn!)
- Comfortable working with students (typically ages 8–18)
- Patient, encouraging, and excited to help students grow
- Available to volunteer in different areas of San Diego, depending on class needs
- Make a real difference by helping students build confidence, problem-solving skills, and a love for STEM
- Gain teaching, mentoring, and leadership experience
- Be part of a supportive community passionate about technology and education
- Flexible scheduling with opportunities to grow into leadership roles
