About the role

OffWorld is a robotics startup focused on developing mobile robotic systems for various industrial applications, including mining, construction, tunneling, and space exploration. This role involves testing and integrating robotic systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring high-quality development.

Responsibilities

  • Create detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for robotic systems, covering all components and functionalities.
  • Coordinate and execute testing activities, including functional, regression, performance, and stress testing.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using appropriate tools and frameworks.
  • Analyze test results, document defects, issues, and areas for improvement, and prepare comprehensive test reports.
  • Collaborate with robotics engineers, software developers, mechanical engineers, and project managers to align testing with development goals.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in robotics testing methodologies, tools, and technologies, and identify areas for process improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, robotics, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of engineering experience in robotics or similar.
  • 2+ years of hands-on testing of robots.
  • Strong knowledge of robotic systems, sensors, perception, and control algorithms.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like C++, Python, or Java.
  • Experience with ROS or similar robotics middleware.
  • Experience with robotics simulation environments and scenario-based regression testing.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, git, docker, and Linux command-line operations and debugging.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with the capability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks based on project goals and timelines.
  • Ability to travel regionally and internationally approximately 15% of the time.
  • Self-driven, passionate, and constantly pursuing knowledge and excellence.
