Responsibilities
- Oversee large scale project planning, installation, and launch of industrial automation technologies across Amazon's growing Stores network.
- Deploy robotic equipment, including mechanical and electrical systems, network configurations, and software coordination.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners across engineering, product strategy, software, supply chain, third-party installers, contracted deployment engineers, construction teams, and internal operations customer teams, functioning as the lead on-site project manager to provide technical oversight on installation Amazon-designed automation equipment.
- Support and guide installation of robotics, packaging and sortation technologies at Amazon fulfillment centers.
- Develop detailed knowledge of the operation of robotic systems and guide installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of these systems both on site and remotely.
- Manage technical ambiguity around integration of work cells in fulfillment centers.
- Collaborate with hardware engineering, technical program managers, product managers, and internal customers including site maintenance and operations teams.
- Travel to project sites and collaborate both virtually and in person to ensure all business stakeholders are aligned on program status.
- Manage day to day project scheduling and budget management.
- Work on continuous improvement activities to improve the projects in your space.
- Generate and implement continuous improvement ideas around work-scopes.
- Lead teams of other engineers on projects.
- Travel to both live warehouses and new construction sites, the scopes may vary significantly in length and include heavy travel.
- Travel to project sites across North America, upwards of 75% or more.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related STEM field.
- Experience working in an engineering, construction, manufacturing, or warehouse environment.
- Experience dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering measurable results in an agile environment.
- Ability to travel domestically 75% or more of the year.
