Core Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design of custom automation cells and end‑of‑arm tooling (EOAT) in compliance with ASME Y14.5 standards.
- Conduct robot reachability studies and payload analysis—including joint torque, center of gravity, and moment of inertia—to validate system performance before build‑out.
- Utilize Process Simulate / QIROX Robo Plan software for detailed simulation and validation of automation solutions.
- Perform comprehensive risk assessments and safety analyses per ANSI/RIA R15.06 and ISO 10218, integrating safety PLCs, light curtains, and fail‑safe mechanisms to maintain a zero‑harm environment.
- Design and program complex robotic work cells, serving as the subject‑matter expert for high‑level robot logic and motion‑profile optimization.
- Develop online robot programs for CLOOS robots and implement MIG welding applications as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Expert‑level experience programming 6‑axis robots.
- Proficiency with integrated vision platforms (e.g., Cognex, Keyence) – considered an advantage.
- Demonstrated expertise in safety standards and risk‑assessment methodologies aligned with ANSI/RIA R15.06 and ISO 10218.
- Knowledge of MotoSim software and online programming of Yamaha robots.
