Robotics Engineer
About the Role
Robotics Engineer position in Redmond, 98052, responsible for creating, deploying, and maintaining AI and machine learning models in support of Embodied AI and Robotics research.
Job Responsibilities
- Fine-tune and improve a variety of sophisticated software implementation projects
- Architect, design and implement our test automation infrastructure
- Develop training and evaluation pipelines using Azure Machine Learning
- Analyze and refine training datasets for robotic and AI applications
- Develop tools to provide fast deployment of novel algorithms in simulation and on hardware
- Integrate robotic control and perception stacks with simulation frameworks
Qualifications
- Masters degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
- 5-7 years of related experience required
- A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design
- Experience with using simulation environments or robotic hardware
- Experience performing in-depth troubleshooting and unit testing with both new and legacy production systems
- Background in machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
Typical Day
A typical day would include integrating a new simulation or robotic arm with our robotic learning framework by adapting our server/client code to the new API. Followed by collecting and converting demonstrations in that environment into the correct format for training a model. Finally launch finetuning runs of our internal VLAs and baseline external VLAs to be evaluated the next day.
Ideal Candidate Background
A candidate familiar with training robotic models such as vision-language-action models, diffusion models, reinforcement learning policies. In addition, familiarity with either simulation environments or robotic hardware is necessary for system integration.

Performance Measurement
Performance will be measured by impact on research objectives. This includes developing new features, performing evaluations, or creating documentations. We practice an agile task planning process where we collaboratively decide on duration and priority of tasks that make progress and impact clear to both parties.

Salary
The annual salary for this position is between $200,000–$208,000 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
