We’re looking for current PhD students with a passion for robotic research and applications to join us as Robotics Applied Scientist II Intern/Co-ops in 2026 to shape the future of robotics and automation at an unprecedented scale across.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and test robotic systems and applications
  • Contribute to research projects that address real-world customer problems
  • Develop and refine algorithms for robotics, manipulation, autonomous navigation, and other related fields
  • Prototype and test robotic systems to validate research findings
  • Present research findings and collaborate with peers and stakeholders

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant academic research or industry experience within Robotics, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Optimization, Manipulation, Perception, Motion Planning and Controls, Movement, Autonomous Navigation, Path Planning, or related
  • Publication(s) at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
  • Experience programming in Java, C++, Python, or related
  • Demonstrated ability to work on collaborative and cross-functional teams
  • Strong algorithm development experience
  • A working knowledge of analysis of algorithms and computational complexity
  • Familiarity with state-of-the-art algorithms in field of expertise
  • Excellent creative problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a PhD program in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, Machine Learning, Operations Research, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field
  • Must be eligible for and available for full-time (40 hours per week) internship in person based out of the assigned office location for the whole duration of the internship/co-op
  • At least 1 year of relevant academic research or industry experience within Robotics, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Optimization, Manipulation, Perception, Motion Planning and Controls, Movement, Autonomous Navigation, Path Planning, or related
  • Minimum 18 years of age

Skills

  • Programming in Java, C++, Python, or related
  • Experience with robotics, manipulation, autonomous navigation, and related fields
  • Strong algorithm development experience
  • A working knowledge of analysis of algorithms and computational complexity
  • Familiarity with state-of-the-art algorithms in field of expertise
  • Excellent creative problem-solving skills
