About the Role
GlobalFoundries Manufacturing Automation Organization is seeking summer interns at the Fab 9 Burlington, Vermont site. This team supports factory daily operations and is responsible for the automation equipment and mobile robotics platforms in the factory. The intern will assist the Factory Automation team in building and installing new automated manufacturing cells, improving existing automation equipment, and enabling manufacturing cell readiness for future automation.
Responsibilities
- Support design, assembly, and integration of automated/robotic manufacturing cells.
- Support enabling manufacturing cell readiness for future automation.
- Support evaluation and improvement of existing or future automated equipment.
- Lead improvement projects and work on a diverse team in a manufacturing environment.
- Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
Requirements
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (sophomore at time of application).
- Minimum overall 3.0 GPA and in good academic standing.
- Fluency in English (written & verbal).
- Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior related internship or co-op experience.
- Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
- Project management skills, including the ability to innovate and execute solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong planning & organizational skills.
- Previous experience with robotics and automation.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
