Essential Functions
- Robot Setup: Call up programs and navigate the robotic interface. Set up welding fixtures and tools to ensure proper alignment and fit. Load and unload materials to be welded by the robot.
- Welding Operations: Start and stop welding robots as needed to complete production tasks. Monitor robot performance. Ensure the quality and precision of welds, inspecting them for defects.
- Read and Interpret Blueprints: Measure dimensions of production parts using tape measure, calipers, micrometers, and templates to ensure conformance with quality standards.
- Operate Welding Equipment: Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and efficient work environment. Operate welding equipment, such as MIG and TIG welding as needed.
Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of production, including weld settings, materials used, and work completed.
- Report any issues, defects, or incidents related to robot operation or welding quality.
Team Collaboration
- Collaborate with other team members, such as welders, engineers, and supervisors, to meet production goals and quality standards.
- Provide input and feedback to improve welding processes.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and welding symbols.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality welds.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
Education And Qualifications
- Welding Certificate or 3 years of welding experience.
- Proven experience in operating welding robots or similar automated machinery.
Physical Requirements
- Must have manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work.
- Must be able to see details at close range.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
