Permanent position with per diem when traveling. Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates not already living in the Harrisburg, NC area.
About the role
This assistant supports Robotic Visual Inspections using borescopes, push cameras, crawler systems, and underwater submarines. Responsibilities include retrieving foreign material, assisting in inspection technique development, and supporting other ATS departments during peak seasons. The role requires travel to job sites, including power generation stations (nuclear, fossil, natural gas, etc.).
Responsibilities
- Assist in performing Robotic Visual Inspections (RVI).
- Maintain equipment, vehicles, and facilities.
- Assist in preparing reporting deliverables for customers.
- Become proficient in operating robotic and remote visual inspection tools.
- Coordinate with team members to meet operational needs.
- Address and resolve operational issues with minimal guidance.
Requirements
- Minimum of a high school diploma with suitable work experience.
- Proven experience working in high-stress environments with teams.
- Strong ability to follow directions and collaborate within a team.
- Effective communication skills for team and customer interactions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Certifiable to ASNT TC-1A in the appropriate method when eligible.
- Ability to learn and comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Must pass a drug screen and hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- U.S. Persons Only: Must qualify as a U.S. Person (citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) for compliance with U.S. export control regulations (ITAR).
Work Conditions
- Must wear safety equipment as required for personal protection.
- Work from heights on scaffolding, ladders, elevated platforms, man-baskets, etc.
- Work in confined spaces requiring crawling, stooping, and climbing.
- Work in and around operating equipment and industrial environments.
- Exposure to radiation and hazardous materials (e.g., cleaners, penetrants, film-developing chemicals).
- Ability to work shifts up to 12 hours/day, 7 days/week, and travel for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds.
