Roadway Maintenance CDL

About the role

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is seeking a full‑time Highway Maintenance Technician with a CDL to perform maintenance operations in the Waco, Texas area. The position involves a variety of roadway maintenance tasks while adhering to federal, state, and local regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform roadway maintenance tasks using shovels, weed trimming machinery, brooms, and small hand tools.
• Operate air compressors, heavy equipment, wheel loaders, skidsteers, forklifts, asphalt rollers, etc.
• Install and repair guardrails, signs, and concrete forms.
• Conduct traffic control (MOT) and follow safety procedures.
• Adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations and Jorgensen company policies.

Requirements

• Valid CDL.
• Minimum 2 years of related experience in construction or roadway maintenance.
• Experience with guardrail and sign installation.
• Experience with concrete forming and repair.
• Traffic control certification/courses (MOT).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to maintain company standards for background checks (criminal record, driving record, controlled substance/drug testing).
• Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations.
• Capable of carrying out simple arithmetic functions.
• Maintain proper safety equipment for each job.
• Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology.
• Ability to use smartphone and related applications.
• Ability to adjust to changing work schedule.
• Ability to work safely under varying environmental and weather conditions.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.

Skills

• Roadway maintenance experience (preferred).
• Bilingual English/Spanish (read/write) preferred but not required.
• Clean driving record essential.
• Willingness to pass criminal background check.
