Roadway Engineer

Responsibilities

• Motivated candidate with 5 - 10 years of New Jersey roadway or highway engineering experience.
• Integral member of a multi-discipline design team.
• Opportunity to advance transportation and civil related NJDOT and County projects.
• Exposure to various disciplines required for transportation and civil projects.
• Opportunity for fast-track career growth due to office workload and backlog.
• Projects include Transportation Assistance Program (TAP) and Safe Routes to School (SRTS) through NJDOT Local Aid.
• Prepare roadway/highway design and plan development from conceptual design to final contract plans.
• Write technical reports and studies, including Concept Development and Final Design Reports.
• Perform condition assessments and inventory of substandard/critical design elements.
• Collaborate with multidiscipline design engineers and technicians.
• Develop Project Management skills.
• Conduct public outreach tasks.
• Participate in professional organizations and technical societies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (BSCE).
• NJ PE License.
• Experience working in a supportive team environment.
• Familiarity with TAP and SRTS projects through NJDOT Local Aid is a plus.
• Prepare technical reports and studies, including Concept Development and Final Design Reports.
• Lead project field visits to perform condition assessments and inventory of substandard/critical design elements.
• Collaborate with multidiscipline design engineers and technicians.
• Develop Project Management skills.
• Conduct public outreach tasks.
• Participate in professional organizations and technical societies.

Pay

Compensation: $100,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year. Base pay offered for this role may vary and can be higher or lower depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base pay, this position may be eligible for a comprehensive range of medical, financial, and other benefits, depending on the role offered.
