Roadway Engineer
About the role
Experienced in the design of roadways and drainage for INDOT (or other DOT clients) with the ability to oversee and assist in analyses, developing calculations, and preparing contract documents (PS&E) in accordance with state and local agency requirements.
Working within a team of roadway engineers in the preparation of design and contract documents for transportation projects.
Managing and maintaining project documentation, including meeting project schedules, budgets, and scope.
Responsibilities
- Experienced in the design of roadways and drainage for INDOT (or other DOT clients).
- Overseeing and assisting in analyses, developing calculations, and preparing contract documents (PS&E) in accordance with state and local agency requirements.
- Working within a team of roadway engineers in the preparation of design and contract documents for transportation projects.
- Maintaining and managing project documentation, including meeting project schedules, budgets, and scope.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) required.
- Candidate may report in-office or work a hybrid schedule.
- Indiana resident highly preferred.
- 5-8 years of demonstrated experience in roadway and/or bridge design and plan preparation on transportation projects for DOT clients.
- INDOT experience is a plus.
- Experience in design software.
- Experience in Microstation and OpenRoads designer is a plus.
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Traffic modeling, roundabout design, drainage design and/or highway lighting design experience is a plus.
