About the role
Michael Baker International is seeking a highly-motivated Roadway Design Engineer in support of our growing Roadway practice within Ohio in our Cincinnati, OH office.
Responsibilities
- Affords assistance with design, construction documents, plan production, maps, basic reports, and other supporting documentation
- Affords assistance with gathering background information related to a project site which includes reviewing as-built plans and mapping existing utility service
- Affords assistance with the preparation of drawings such as those needed for highways, structures, and traffic projects
- Affords assistance with quantities and project cost estimates
- Affords coordination and communication with design technicians to ensure timely and accurate deliverables
- Affords assistance with document preparation for regulatory agencies to obtain required permits
- Affords assistance with preparation for client and project meetings
- Affords attendance at internal project meetings and participation as necessary
- Occasionally visits project sites, and reports findings to Project Managers
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering a plus
- Oregon and/or Kentucky P.E. license required
- 5 - 8 years of progressive highway design experience
- Traffic engineering experience is a plus
- Proficient with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to build relationships with a wide variety of people, multitask and prioritize competing project obligations
- Strong English language skills, written and verbal are essential to long term success in this role
- Self-motivated, flexible, and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and time-management skills

The approximate compensation range for this position is $78,099 to $112,769 per year.
