Roadside Technician Commercial Tires - Elk Grove Village, IL

About the role

An emergency response tire technician for semi-truck fleets. When a customer has a tire-related failure, a Technician is dispatched to the customer's location to repair or change the tire. Technicians are expected to be roadside when performing their job duties. During times when there are no service calls pending, Technicians will help mount orders, clean and organize the shop, and perform other general duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Respond to after-hours service requests—including evenings and weekends—during assigned on-call periods with a high rate of acceptance
• Perform roadside tire repairs or replacements for semi-truck fleets
• Mount, dismount, and repair commercial tires
• Perform match mounting, match mating dual assemblies, and radial runout as necessary
• Inflate tires to prescribed PSI per load requirements
• Assist with shop duties such as mounting orders, cleaning, and organizing when not on service calls

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and meet commercial driver qualification requirements
• At least 21 years of age
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Previous Commercial Service Tire experience

Skills

• Servicing Commercial Tires including dismounting, mounting, and repairing any type of tire
• Performing match mounting, match mating dual assemblies, and radial runout as necessary
• Inflating tires to prescribed PSI per load requirements
• Complying with OSHA regulations and safety requirements including proper PPE use, tire cage usage, and following all safety policies and procedures

Pay

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. After-hours service calls are compensated at a premium pay rate with guaranteed minimums.

Schedule

This position includes participation in a mandatory on-call rotation. During an assigned on-call period, Technicians are expected to respond to after-hours service requests—including evenings and weekends—with a high rate of acceptance.
