Road to Recovery Driver
About the role
The Road to Recover Driver provides motor vehicle transportation services to clients in the Basic Needs program who are going into or coming out of substance treatment programs/facilities within the state of Connecticut. This position is under the direction of the Transportation Manager and reflects the core values of Trauma Informed Service: Safety, Trustworthiness, Choice, Collaboration and Empowerment.
Responsibilities
- Reliably and safely transport program appropriate clients within the state of Connecticut.
- Review and maintain records of referrals for Transportation program.
- Take referrals, instruct referring agencies and complete paperwork for DMHAS Transportation Program.
- Complete all required documentation and reporting.
- Participate in monthly staff meetings, group supervision, and other collaborative meetings.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- Demonstrated the ability to manage, motivate and direct consumers.
- Knowledgeable about the stages of recovery, self-help, mental health, substance abuse, and confidentiality.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with a deadline-oriented mindset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other common desktop applications.
- Knowledge of DMHAS supported substance abuse facilities and Connecticut state highway system.
- Culturally competent; must possess the capacity to work within a team and foster teamwork.
- Able to meet all documentation requirements.
- Able to drive; manage office telephones, schedule transports, perform light clerical duties and use a fax machine.
- Strong empathic skills coupled with a high degree of reliability and punctuality.
- Valid Driver’s license with a good driving record.

Pay
$18.51 per hour plus excellent benefits
Schedule
Per Diem only, no regular schedule, 7 days a week, day and night shift
