About the role

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Road Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, diagnose, and make advanced repairs at customer locations. This role aims to keep equipment operational and avoid downtime. Our fleet varies by location but primarily includes Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools, and equipment. Specialty lines locations may feature large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil/gas-related equipment.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance on a variety of makes, models, and equipment in challenging remote locations.
Diagnose and execute advanced repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
Work in a safety-focused environment with a team of professionals.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required; some trade school or equivalent training desired.
1-2 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty lines equipment (e.g., large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil/gas equipment).
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (21 years of age and CDL license may be required in some locations).
Ability to provide mechanic’s tools of trade, if needed.

Skills

Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
Flexibility with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Bilingual (Spanish or other) may be required based on location needs.

Physical Demands

Bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, and lifting 50 pounds or more.
Working indoors and outdoors as required by the job.

Pay

Base pay range: $21.38 - $29.39 per hour. Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
