Road Supervisor

About the role

The Road Supervisor reports to the General Manager and is responsible for actively facilitating communications between the field operations team to ensure the service runs efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Supervises day‑to‑day activities of operators to ensure compliance with operational requirements for safe bus operations, including corporate safety training processes and practices.
• Provides support, advice, and guidance to operators in responding to issues such as customer complaints, bus and worker safety concerns, and time‑off requests; assesses situations and determines appropriate actions (e.g., additional training, counseling) to prevent future occurrences.
• Ensures a positive work environment by offering coaching, mentoring, and non‑safety‑related training to promote high employee motivation, morale, and commitment to company values and excellent customer service.
• Monitors on‑time performance.
• Prepares and submits required reports in a timely manner.
• Supervises compliance with company policies and processes; discusses any breaches of policy and procedure with the Operations Manager.
• Collects and audits employee DVIs.
• Evaluates the performance of all direct‑report personnel regularly according to company policy.
• Administers appropriate employee discipline as necessary.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Physical ability to lift 25+ pounds, climb stairs, and remain on your feet for extended periods.

Qualifications

• Commercial Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement.
• Open availability – flexible schedule.

Preferred:

• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in Operations Management, with at least 3 years in the transit industry (college education can substitute for up to 2 years of required work experience).
• Experience in public or private alternative transportation demand management (TDM).
• Knowledge of DMV policies and procedures.
