Road Maintenance Technician - Front Range

Four day work weeks! Work outside! Larimer County Road and Bridge is seeking hardworking, motivated individuals to join our team. The Road and Bridge Department operates and maintains the transportation system in Larimer County; Seasonal Road Maintenance positions are crucial to our success.

Responsibilities
- Perform various tasks under different levels of supervision and in various locations throughout Larimer County, including operating rubber tire and steel drum rollers, power brooms, farm tractors with mower attachments, and similar equipment.
- Use hand tools such as shovels, picks, asphalt rakes, chainsaws, weed eaters, blowers, hand brooms, and crack seal squeegees.
- Operate commercial motor vehicles and heavy construction equipment as assigned.
- Engage in physical labor for extended periods outdoors in all weather conditions, day or night, including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Qualifications
- Demonstrates consistent and reliable attendance.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with County employees, representatives of other agencies and organizations, and members of the community.
- Understands principles, practices, and techniques of heavy highway construction and maintenance.
- Reads and comprehends department and County rules, regulations, policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Operates Larimer County-approved computer programs as needed.

Related Experience Preferred
Experience in heavy highway construction and maintenance is preferred.
Required Certifications and Licenses
- Ability to obtain a Colorado Flaggers Certification within two (2) weeks of employment.
- Possession of a valid driver license.
- Safety-toe shoes, required.
- Class ‘B' or Class ‘A' Commercial Driver License (CDL) without certain restrictions.
- Ability to obtain 'N' Tank endorsement by date of hire.
