Road Engineer
About the role
A Engineer is sought to join the Roads team based in the London & South East region. The role involves preparing designs and specifications, developing designs using Civil3D and AutoCAD, delivering work packages, supporting senior engineers, and providing technical reports. The position requires involvement in various project accounts and supporting graduate engineers and apprentices.
Responsibilities
- Prepare designs and specifications in accordance with DMRB
- Develop designs using Civils3D/AutoCAD
- Deliver work packages with scope to manage smaller schemes
- Support planning, programming, and cost estimation
- Provide support to senior engineers
- Support development of graduate engineers and apprentices
- Produce technical reports as required
- Undertake site visits to inform designs
- Work on multiple varied multi-disciplinary project/client accounts
Requirements
- A passion for design and developing innovative solutions
- Highways design experience in accordance with DMRB, TSRGD, Traffic Signs Manual and Local Transport Notes
- Proficiency in design and drafting tools like Civils3D/AutoCAD
- Additional skills in Bentley design software such as OpenRoads Designer/MicroStation
- Familiarity with BIM environments such as ProjectWise, Autodesk Forma (formerly ACC), other Common Data Environments, CAD QA/QC processes, and collaborative digital delivery
- Attained or working towards professional qualifications such as IEng, with demonstrable progress
