About the role

The Road Construction Superintendent position is a high-impact leadership role overseeing active crews and ensuring road construction and maintenance projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate road construction crews, subcontractors, and field staff across multiple job sites
  • Enforce safety protocols and job site compliance with OSHA standards and local regulations
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, materials, and equipment usage to keep jobs on track and within scope
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure quality and adherence to engineering plans and specs
  • Communicate with engineers, local officials, and stakeholders to address issues and relay project progress
  • Maintain accurate daily logs, reports, and incident documentation

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in road construction or maintenance, including supervisory responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, safety standards (OSHA 10 required), and heavy equipment use
  • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints and project specifications
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • A valid driver's license

Qualifications

  • OSHA 30 certification
  • Experience managing multiple crews or large-scale municipal infrastructure projects

Pay

  • $40 to $60 per hour based on experience and equipment operating ability
  • Overtime paid at 1.5x the hourly rate
  • Seasonal employment from approximately March through early December with winters off
  • Company vehicle during the active construction season based on role and experience
