About the role
The Road Construction Superintendent position is a high-impact leadership role overseeing active crews and ensuring road construction and maintenance projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate road construction crews, subcontractors, and field staff across multiple job sites
- Enforce safety protocols and job site compliance with OSHA standards and local regulations
- Manage project schedules, budgets, materials, and equipment usage to keep jobs on track and within scope
- Conduct site inspections to ensure quality and adherence to engineering plans and specs
- Communicate with engineers, local officials, and stakeholders to address issues and relay project progress
- Maintain accurate daily logs, reports, and incident documentation
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in road construction or maintenance, including supervisory responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, safety standards (OSHA 10 required), and heavy equipment use
- Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints and project specifications
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- A valid driver's license
Qualifications
- OSHA 30 certification
- Experience managing multiple crews or large-scale municipal infrastructure projects

Pay
- $40 to $60 per hour based on experience and equipment operating ability
- Overtime paid at 1.5x the hourly rate
- Seasonal employment from approximately March through early December with winters off
