Road Construction Heavy Hauling Driver

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles, including lowboys, flatbeds, tractor-trailers, dump trucks, and other heavy-haul equipment
• Transport oversized loads, heavy equipment, and roadway construction materials while ensuring safe and timely delivery
• Load, unload, and secure equipment and materials in compliance with DOT regulations and company standards
• Maintain accurate driver logs, inspection reports, and delivery documentation
• Cook with supervisors, dispatchers, and field crews to ensure timely deliveries
• Follow all company, DOT, and safety regulations
• Assist with equipment maintenance and job site support as needed
• Travel and work overtime, nights, weekends, and out-of-town projects when required

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record
• Minimum 2 years of heavy hauling or construction trucking experience preferred
• Experience hauling oversized and heavy construction equipment
• Knowledge of DOT regulations, load securement, and permit requirements
• Ability to safely operate in construction zones, uneven terrain, and varying weather conditions
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills
• Mechanical aptitude and basic equipment maintenance knowledge preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to climb, stoop, bend, kneel, squat, and secure loads
• Ability to enter and exit trucks and trailers repeatedly throughout the day
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme temperatures and physically demanding conditions
• Able to assist the crew with general labor duties as needed
