Responsibilities

• Assists with and performs routine assigned physical and occupational therapy treatments; demonstrating knowledge of treatment goals and precautions.
• Provides direct restorative care and delegated therapy tasks.
• Assists regular CNAs in positioning, ROM, ambulation, ADL, cones/splints/contracture care, ADL specifics, safety device application, appropriate padding and wheelchair cushions, and safety device release.
• Follows all safety regulations, protocols, policies and procedures.
• Maintains safety and cleanliness of work area and equipment.
• Communicates with facility staff.
• Confers with therapists to establish efficient treatment schedules.
• Transports, transfers and facilitates patient care as directed by therapists.
• Prepares patient equipment and supplies for treatment.

Qualifications

• High School graduate.
• Must have current CA Restorative Nurse Assistant License.
• Must have complete knowledge of medical terminology as applied to Rehabilitation and Restorative Nursing issues.
• Able to communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
• Completion of an on-the-job orientation and training program or demonstrates competency in each of the designated areas.
• Able to move and transfer residents in conjunction with standard treatment and in accordance with orientation and training program.
• Excellent organizational skills.
