RN - Wound Ostomy Per Diem Day
About the role
This is a per diem part-time position at Providence Portland Medical Center, working weekdays and weekends on a day shift. The hospital-based Wound Ostomy Nurse serves as a clinical resource and consultant for the acute and rehabilitative care of patients with selected disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary systems, including:
- Acute and chronic wounds (e.g., complex draining wounds, fistulae, pressure ulcers, vascular ulcers)
- Ostomies
- Percutaneous tubes
- Moisture-related skin injuries
Responsibilities include direct patient care, clinical consultation, education, research, and administration. The Wound Ostomy Nurse provides inpatient and outpatient clinical services throughout the hospital, including the Emergency Department and Wound/Ostomy Care Clinic, and serves on several regional patient care committees.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Oregon Registered Nurse License (upon hire)
- National Provider BLS - American Heart Association (upon hire)
- Current certification in wound ostomy nursing, dual specialty (CWON) by the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board; or obtain CWON certification within 12 months of hire
- 2 years recent acute care nursing experience, preferably including wound and ostomy care

Pay
The pay range for this position is $47.31 - $73.44 per hour. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
