RN Wound Care Coordinator
Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Wound Care Nurse, you will specialize in comprehensive wound and ostomy care. You will elevate care quality, optimize patient outcomes, and ensure cost-effective management.
- Provide expert consultation and direct care for complex wounds.
- Assess, plan, and evaluate individualized care, educate patients/staff on best practices, monitor outcomes, and ensure protocol adherence.
- Demonstrate strong critical thinking, communication, and a commitment to evidence-based practice.
Requirements
- Promote an interdisciplinary approach to wound/ostomy care/PICC line insertions within the hospital setting.
- Increase patient/family/significant other involvement in decision-making related to the plan of care.
- Independently assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the wound care of patients.
- Observe the wound care of other nursing team members and assume a resource and clinical education role.
- Give direction to staff members related to wound care of patients/residents and specialty bed usage.
- Identify educational needs and conduct education classes in coordination with nursing education department as needed.
