General Summary
The Registered Nurse coordinates all aspects of care for patients under the direction of the Director of Nursing of the Transitional Rehab Unit. This includes creating a therapeutic environment that fosters optimism, encouragement, and praise for positive behavior and goal achievement.
Team Leader
Responsible for supervising LPN, CNA/NA, and Unit Secretaries.
Education
Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required.
Work Experience
Minimum of two (2) years of satisfactory experience in a long term care setting preferred.
Special Employment Requirements
- Possession of a current license as a Registered Nurse as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nurse Examiners.
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing required.
- CPR certification must be obtained and maintained.
- Must be cleared by PA State Police criminal history check.
- Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide individualized care appropriate to the age-specific needs and cultures of the patients served.
Physical Demands
- Medium Work: duties require exerting 25 to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 lbs. of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible amount up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, and move objects.
- Works in a well-lit and ventilated surroundings including clinic area, nurse's stations, patient rooms, treatment area, dining room, etc.
Accident or Health Hazards
- Occasional exposure to blood and body substances.
- Exposure to needle sticks possible.
