RN Weekends Supervisor

About the role

Accel at Willow Bend in Plano, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for weekend shifts to supervise charge nurses and caregivers, ensure clinical systems function as intended, and oversee resident care. This role plays a key part in delivering quality, compassionate healthcare and creating a positive resident experience in a facility specializing in long-term and rehabilitative care.

Responsibilities

• Maintains appropriate nursing service objectives, goals, and standards of nursing practices consistent with licensure requirements and the Nurse Practice Act.
• Evaluates staffing patterns needed to meet resident needs in conjunction with the Director of Nursing.
• Administers medication and treatments as prescribed.
• Observes patients, charts, and reports changes in patient conditions.
• Answers patient calls and determines how to assist them.
• Provides basic patient care or treatments.
• Works as part of a healthcare team to assess patient needs, plan and modify care, and implement interventions.
• Receives, transcribes, and implements physician’s orders.
• Implements and evaluates care plans.
• Identifies and secures equipment supplies.
• Directs and oversees subordinates, including organizing and coordinating job tasks and time allotments.
• Oversees and monitors the function and activities of subordinate staff.
• Evaluates staff performance and institutes appropriate disciplinary or training actions.
• Monitors infection control compliance.
• Investigates and documents accidents and incidents.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Current, valid licensure as an RN in Texas is required.
• Experience in long-term healthcare preferred.
• Management or supervisory experience required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
