About the role
The RN Unit Manager (registered nurse) oversees staff, management, and coordination of nursing service activities for the scheduled working shift. This role ensures safe, efficient, and therapeutic patient care in accordance with the facility’s philosophy, objectives, and policies. The Unit Manager also relates effectively with other shifts for continuity of care and assumes charge in the absence of the ADON and Director of Nursing.
Responsibilities
- Assists in interpreting facility policy and state law as related to nursing services.
- Participates in facility safety procedures and programs.
- Informs the ADON of nursing activities, needs, problems, and unusual events.
- Recommends the purchase of supplies and equipment required for the nursing service.
- Makes routine nursing service checks on staff, timecards, equipment, materials, and supplies.
- Makes recommendations to the ADON and Director of Nursing regarding hiring, promotion, suspension, and termination of nursing service employees.
- Assists with in-service education programs and evaluates their effectiveness to determine the need for revision of methods and materials.
- Investigates and reports complaints.
- Charges the floor in the absence of the charge nurse or assists with daily duties as needed.

Pay
$39.50–$43.00 per hour.
Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday, day shift.
