Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manages the overall care and dignity of residents on a specialized Vent unit.
- Provides guidance and direction to ancillary staff in both clinical and personnel issues.
- Supports and guides residents and families on clinical issues and challenges. Assists in resolving concerns and grievances.
- Ensures sufficient staff is available to meet regulatory requirements and clinical needs.
- Reviews perspective admissions if required for determination of needs.
- Ensures an environment that is clean, safe, and comfortable for residents by enforcing infection control and safety practices.
- Investigates accidents and incidents related to patients/residents, staff, or visitors and provides first aid and follow-up as necessary.
- Develops a supervisory report to the DON/ADON regarding pertinent issues.
- Reviews the clinical record of each patient/resident to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Performs assessments on patients/residents assigned to the unit on a quarterly basis (includes Skin, Falls, Sr, B&B, Elopement, etc).
- Oversight of all care provided on the unit and ensures compliance with all rules and regulations.
- Leads Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) on every unit to support quality care.
