RN Unit Manager

About the role

The Registered Nurse Unit Manager oversees clinical and personnel operations on a long-term care unit, providing supervision, guidance, and coordination of resident care in compliance with state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Supervising staff and assigning tasks to Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs)
• Performing resident assessments and developing individualized care plans
• Monitoring safety and infection control protocols
• Conducting daily resident rounds and communicating with interdisciplinary team members
• Supporting residents and families with clinical issues
• Orienting new staff and assisting in daily unit operations
• Documenting resident observations and care activities
• Ensuring staff adherence to safety standards and proper documentation
• Performing other related duties as required

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved nursing program
• Current NYS RN or LPN license
• Minimum three years' supervisory experience in a long-term care or related setting

Skills

• Strong communication
• Good judgment in emergencies
• Computer literacy
• Genuine desire to work with the elderly and disabled

Note: COVID-19 vaccination is encouraged but not mandated.

Schedule

Flexible hours, primarily day shifts, with occasional weekends.
