Shift: Full-Time - Days

Unit Description

The Sentara Princess Anne Hospital offers comprehensive emergency care, including:

  • Board-certified emergency physicians
  • Nurses certified in advanced cardiac life support, trauma, and pediatric certifications
  • Pediatric-trained team for treating children of all ages
  • Overnight observation rooms and a family-friendly waiting area
  • Seamless connection to easily accessible radiology department
  • Landing pad for Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance

Demonstrates Proficiency in Nursing Practice

Demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager, leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff.

Key Responsibilities

Provides leadership support to the day shift, engages in active, real-time peer coaching, manages conflict resolution and customer service interventions, oversees and optimizes patient flow, and conducts various audits to ensure quality and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required, Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred
  • RN with a valid VA or Compact license in good standing
  • 18 months nursing experience in the ED required
