About the role
Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA is hiring Traveling Acute Care Float RNs for the Night Shift team. As a Night Shift RN on the Acute Care Float Team, you’ll rotate through Medical-Surgical Units across Guthrie’s hospital system, supporting patient care, relieving unit staff, and ensuring smooth clinical operations.
Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patients’ care; develop, update, and coordinate patients’ plan of care to achieve goals and optimize outcomes and transitions across the continuum.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Advocate for ethical and holistic care by partnering in care planning to promote autonomy, dignity, rights, values, and beliefs of those served.
- Foster a learning environment for patients/families, nursing, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Ensure safety, identify and correct problems, and integrate evidence and best practice into nursing care; use data and evidence to improve patient outcomes.
- Engage in ongoing professional development; practice at the top of license within legal parameters and specialty standards.
- Demonstrate leadership as a change agent using advocacy, influence, and innovation; delegate, coordinate care, and collaborate with the inter-professional team.
- Participate in the planning and presentation of educational programs.
- Use independent, critical judgment in all aspects of patient care delivery.
- Manage multiple responsibilities, urgent responses, and challenging situations effectively.
Requirements
- Active RN license in Pennsylvania and New York required.
- BSN in Nursing preferred; any previously agreed-upon effective date for obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in nursing remains in effect.
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification is unit dependent.
- Specialty certification preferred.
Skills
- Proficiency in electronic health records, communication systems, computers, and equipment necessary to perform essential functions.
- Ability to work effectively with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills that convey a positive and supportive attitude.

Pay
Up to a $25,000 Sign-On Bonus for experienced RNs.
Schedule
- Full-time, 36 hours per week.
- Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM.
- Rotation every other weekend.
- Assignments rotate every 8–12 weeks.
