About the Facility
Baylor Scott & White Medical Center–Lake Pointe in Rowlett, TX is a 176-bed community-based hospital offering the specialties of a large urban medical center. The facility includes:
- Three medical-surgical units
- Intensive Care Unit
- Labor & Delivery, New Family Unit, Antepartum, and Level III Neonatal Intensive Care
- Surgical Services, Cardiac Cath Lab, Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology, and Emergency Department
Outpatient services span physical medicine, wound care, sleep center, imaging, and two free-standing Emergency Departments, serving Rowlett, Forney, Wylie, and surrounding communities. The hospital holds Level III Trauma, Chest Pain, Primary Stroke, and Maternal Level III NICU accreditations. The nursing team is on the Pathways to Excellence journey and will pursue Magnet designation upon completion.

About the Role
As an RN Float, you will coordinate patient care based on our nursing model. Your responsibilities include assessing patients, planning personalized care, and evaluating responses to health issues. You will ensure patient safety, delegate interventions to team members, and make recommendations that impact patient outcomes.
Responsibilities

- Develop and adjust nursing care plans for desired outcomes
- Create a safe environment for patients, families, and staff
- Address emotional and physical pain to aid healing

- Educate patients, families, staff, and the community continuously

Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program
- 1 year of Med Surg nursing experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or obtain within 30 days of hire)
Skills & Competencies
- Thorough knowledge of nursing and patient care standards and procedures
- Understanding of relevant laws, rules, and regulations, including certifications and accreditations
- Familiarity with health promotion, risk reduction, illness and disease prevention, and management
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in general computer skills
