Welcome to our high-energy, fast-paced 30-bed Surgical & Orthopedic Care Unit. Our diverse patient population includes a broad range of medical and post-operative cases, such as:

• Orthopedic procedures: knees, hips, shoulders
• General surgeries: appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resections
• Specialized care: bariatric surgery, sepsis, pancreatitis, and stable pneumothorax

We maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6, supported by highly skilled Patient Care Associates to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care delivery. Our team is known for clinical expertise, unmatched dedication, strong collaboration, empathy, and compassion.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the Mercy Nursing Conceptual Framework and nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients.
• Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments.
• Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program
• Active RN license (state-specific or compact)
• Meet all state board of nursing requirements

Requirements

• ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support
• BLS – Basic Life Support (or within 30 days of hire)
• Any unit-specific certifications (with timeline for completion)
• Regularly lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs
• Prolonged standing/walking throughout shift
• Ability to bend, kneel, twist, squat as needed

Pay

• $20,000 sign‑on bonus for experienced RNs
• Stay premium pay: earn up to $8/hr extra based on years of Mercy service
• Weekend option bonus: $20/hr for RNs

Schedule

Full‑Time | 36 hrs/week

Shift: Days | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
