Job Summary

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Surgical Care to join our team. Ideal candidates should have 1 year of RN experience and a current State of Alaska Registered Nurse License. An Associates Degree in Nursing is required, with a BSN being preferred. Additionally, candidates must hold certifications in the American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS or ACLS).

Qualifications

  • Current State of Alaska Registered Nurse License
  • Associates Degree in Nursing required
  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
  • 1+ year of RN experience
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification

Responsibilities

  • Provide assessment and planning for individualized patient care
  • Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment
  • Collaborate with patients/families, considering developmental, cultural, and age-specific differences
  • Develop and implement patient care plans, including problems, goals, evaluations, and interventions
  • Communicate effectively with physicians regarding patient's clinical condition and results of diagnostic studies
  • Perform nursing duties as needed in the continuum of care for all patients
  • Participate in process improvement efforts and activities for the department
  • Work collaboratively with Social Service and Pastoral care to support and provide families emotional and end-of-life resources, such as Hospice, to facilitate a dignified end
  • Act in a composed and professional manner, especially under pressure
