General Purpose
The RN Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily nursing operations during the assigned shift. This role ensures all care is delivered in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations while maintaining the highest standards of quality care.
Essential Duties
- Supervise and support nursing staff including LVNs, CNAs, and Treatment Nurses
- Cookbook resident care and perform skilled assessments
- Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapy as needed
- Make rounds and provide shift reports
- Monitor and respond to changes in resident condition and emergencies
- Communicate effectively with physicians, healthcare providers, and families
- Ensure physician orders are accurate, current, and properly communicated
- Oversee admissions, care planning, and documentation compliance
- Participate in quality assurance programs and regulatory surveys
- Conduct audits of medication carts, documentation, and nursing practices
- Maintain oversight of infection control and safety procedures
- Coach, counsel, and educate staff to support performance and growth
- Facilitate interdisciplinary communication and collaboration
- Identify staffing needs and support scheduling as needed
Qualifications
- Education & Experience: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing Minimum of 2 years nursing experience (SNF experience preferred) Supervisory experience preferred
- Licenses & Certifications: Current RN license in good standing Current CPR certification
