Position Overview
The Weekend RN Supervisor at The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing Center at Utica plays a vital role in promoting and restoring patients' health. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management and long-term planning of patient care, overseeing staff, collaborating with physicians, and providing both physical and psychological support for patients, friends, and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Build strong relationships with patients, families, and staff to understand care needs
- Schedule and assign nursing staff to meet patient care requirements
- Provide compassionate emotional support to patients and their families
- Answer questions and communicate effectively with patients and the healthcare team
- Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment
- Follow and enforce infection control and medication safety policies
- Protect patient confidentiality at all times
- Avoid inaccurate and timely documentation of patient care
- Oversee medical equipment, including maintenance and repairs
- Collaborate with team members to support smooth daily operations
Requirements
- Current NYS RN Licensure
- Minimum two years of experience in Long-Term Care or Med/Surg
- Minimum one year of experience in a supervisory capacity (preferred)
