About the role
The RN Supervisor at Garden Spot Village provides leadership and oversight for nursing services, ensuring high-quality resident care, staff development, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Comply with established policies, procedures, and standards, including the Compliance Program/Code of Conduct
- Follow Residents’ Rights policies at all times
- Maintain confidentiality regarding all resident information, including condition and family matters
- Counsel certified nursing assistants and recommend personnel actions to the Director of Nursing Service as necessary
- Observe and enforce infection control procedures related to nursing services
- Ensure the safety of residents under your care or supervision
- Adhere to all facility safety policies and procedures
- Demonstrate dependability and punctuality by coming to work as scheduled
- Work cooperatively with administration, nursing personnel, physicians, community agencies, residents, families, and consultants
- Maintain a clean, neat uniform and professional appearance
- Accept assigned duties cooperatively and assume accountability for responsibilities outlined in the employee handbook
- Direct, evaluate, and supervise all resident care and initiate corrective actions as needed
- Conduct daily resident rounds and report nursing care status to the Director of Nursing Service and Administrator
- Supervise the implementation of nursing rehabilitation and restorative programs
- Assist with analysis of incident and accident investigation reports, determining causes and implementing corrective actions as appropriate
- Complete residents’ MDS assessments and care plans in a timely manner, with follow-up as needed
- Review newly admitted residents and compare physician orders with care plans to ensure accurate implementation
- Participate in the Quality Assessment and Assurance Program for the nursing department in cooperation with the Quality Assurance Committee
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
- Experience supervising nursing staff preferred
- Knowledge of restorative nursing, long-term care, and infection control procedures
- Strong leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills
- Commitment to customer service, teamwork, and professional development
- Must rotate shifts and work weekends and holidays as scheduled
- May be required to work during emergency conditions (short staffing, severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.)
- May be asked to work overtime to ensure adequate staffing
