About the role

Successful candidate will have solid Hospice experience, preferably in a leadership role. Shift will be Thursday through Monday. Supervises and oversees the day-to-day activities of the hospice program including volunteer functions and bereavement program, ensuring consistent delivery of high-value quality care to all patient populations served. Establishes work priorities and assists staff in resolving operational issues/problems. Implements and enforces adherence to department, affiliate, operating unit, and/or system standards, policies and procedures, the Joint Commission (TJC) standards, and applicable laws and regulations. Identifies and implements cost savings and best practices, using Lean or other process improvement methods and concepts. Collaborates with others to coordinate services, streamline and standardize workflows and procedures, and/or drive positive outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with the Joint Commission (TJC) standards and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Identify and implement cost savings and best practices using Lean or other process improvement methods.
  • Collaborate with others to coordinate services, streamline, and standardize workflows and procedures.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • RN-Registered Nurse of California license.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification.
  • Valid Driver License and Automobile Insurance.
  • 5 years of recent relevant experience.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Demonstrated clinical experience in hospice, home health care, or health facility caring for patients with life-limiting illness.
  • Proven experience at a leadership/management level.
  • Recent participation in a Medicare-certified hospice program desirable.
  • Solid understanding of operations and workflows and how department processes impact other departments.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including team building, coaching, and mentoring with the ability to motivate and engage others.
  • Ability to identify and resolve technical and operational issues/problems as guided by policies and procedures.
  • Ability to build and establish effective working partnerships with employees, peers, and/or leaders to achieve business objectives.
  • Understands age-specific needs in providing care to the patient population served.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects while delivering quality service.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service and responding to customer needs/requests promptly and courteously.
  • Ability to work/interact with a diverse population while respecting cultural and linguistic differences.

Eligible positions include a comprehensive benefits package.

Pay

Pay range is $148,574.40 to $222,872.00 annual salary. The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.

Schedule

  • Full Time
  • Days of the week: Friday, Monday, Thursday
  • Weekend requirements: Every weekend, Saturday, Sunday
  • Weekly hours: 40

Employees of Sutter Health and its entities may handle hazardous drugs in the course of their work, including patient care, which requires them to manage, store, prepare, receive, unpack, transport, dispose of, or administer drugs identified as hazardous or potentially hazardous by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and in accordance with the USP 800 guidelines.
