About the role
Vermilion Behavioral Health Systems is seeking a Full-Time Night RN House Supervisor in Lafayette, Louisiana. The position is available with a rotating weekend schedule from 7 PM to 7 AM.
Responsibilities
- Day-to-day oversight of nursing operations and ensuring adequate staffing to provide care.
- Oversees the delivery of behavioral health/nursing services with a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary treatment teams, other departments, and administration to meet residents' physical, biopsychosocial, age, developmental, and cultural needs.
- Works to resolve customer complaints and ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as nursing practice standards.
- Ensures proper staffing for each unit, maintaining appropriate ratios and covering call-offs and vacation time.
- Completes chart checks, seclusion/restraint logs, and nursing assessments, ensuring MARs and report sheets are accurate and up to date.
- Performs rounds at the beginning of shifts and conducts random audits.
- Mentors and trains staff as needed, assisting nursing leaders in facility compliance with professional, regulatory, and governmental standards.
- Monitors and evaluates patient care processes and outcomes, adjusting staffing as necessary.
- Administers medications and maintains accurate records according to company policies and procedures.
- Develops and updates a plan of care for each patient, prioritizing tasks and delegating staff to ensure quality care.
- Provides direct care as needed during shifts.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing preferred.
- Current registered nursing license in the state where the facility is located.
- Greater than 1 year of experience as an RN, with 1 year in psychiatric/recovery programs preferred.
- Some experience as a charge RN or other leadership position strongly preferred.
- Current certification or license to practice within the state where the facility is located.
- CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire).
