Responsibilities
- Coordinates, implements, and assists with staff training, in-services, and internal developmental programs for nursing staff.
- Provides clinical oversight, overseeing the clinical operations for all nursing clinical support activities.
- Maintains and updates nursing personnel files, ensuring compliance with licensing and certification requirements.
- Aids in the review and revision of clinical policies and procedures.
- Ensures adequate staffing and operating costs for assigned clinics, maintaining budgetary parameters.
- Participates in the interviewing and recruiting of nursing personnel.
- Performs tasks assigned to staff nurses as necessary.
- Demonstrates knowledge of applicable labor laws and schedules, coordinating employee staffing including vacations, sick leave, and overtime.
- Maintains clinical operations and practices consistent with organizational objectives.
- Maintains patient satisfaction and quality assurance measures.
- Coordinates the correct use of charge codes and educates staff on proper reimbursement procedures.
- Develops new services and activities for patients, families, and staff in alignment with practice objectives.
- Supports staff retention and training programs, assisting with annual performance evaluations for nursing department staff.
- Serves as a mentor and provides day-to-day guidance to less experienced nurses.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education/Training: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN or MSN preferred.
- RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
- CPR certification required.
- Business Experience: Minimum five years actively practicing as a registered nurse, including at least three years oncology experience. One-year leadership experience preferred.
- Specialized Knowledge/Skills: Oncology certification preferred.
- Physical Requirements: Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Standing and walking for extended periods is frequent. Lifting and carrying items up to 40 lbs occasionally. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
Pay
The general pay scale for this position at Maryland Oncology Hematology is $94,376.21 - $145,200.00 per year. The actual hiring rate is dependent on various factors including prior work experience, education, job/position responsibilities, location, work performance, etc.
