RN supervisor

About the role

Apex Rehabilitation & Care Center is looking for a passionate and hard-working Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor to join our team. We offer 12 hour shifts for supervision on weekends for LTC facility. Must have LTC experience.

Responsibilities

• Guide and direct the activities of certified nursing assistants and LPN's
• Review and modify care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team
• Attend care planning and discharge planning reviews
• Provide patient/family education
• Administer medications and treatments, perform special tests, document treatment, and respond to patient care emergencies
• Perform required skills (assessment, intervention) according to guidelines, forms, policies and procedures
• Follow DOH guidelines
• Develop care plan that demonstrates knowledge of criteria to ascertain residents specific needs based on health care problem(s)
• Carry out care plan that demonstrates familiarity with criteria to establish resident priorities specific to anticipated outcomes
• Implement physicians' orders; administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, procedures and special tests and document treatment as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations

Qualifications

• Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BSN preferred (Associates is accepted with experience in LTC)
• Must have effective communication skills, both verbal and written
• Long term care experience required
• Must be creative and have good observations and analytical skills
