About the role

The RN Study Coordinator (RN) is accountable for the coordination and delivery of nursing care, including direct patient care, research participant/family education in clinical and research settings. The RN is responsible for managing and/or participating in all phases of the research process. The RN supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the research participant and family, as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver nursing care, including direct patient care, research participant/family education in clinical and research settings.
• Manage and/or participate in all phases of the research process.
• Support professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the research participant and family, as appropriate.
• Assess research participants, investigate abnormal patterns of adverse events and laboratory results, and report appropriately.
• Interact with other departments to develop systems/procedures for coordinating phases of study protocols that comply with regulatory laws and institutional guidelines for study data collection, storage, retrieval, and participant medical tests and procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of RN experience in ambulatory and/or acute care settings.
• Demonstrated ability to independently perform a wide range of clinical tasks with a high level of proficiency, including venipuncture, ECG acquisition, injections, infusions, blood specimen collection, and other procedures within the scope of RN licensure.
• Previous experience in Nuclear Medicine and/or Radiology.
• Graduate of an accredited Bachelor's degree Nursing program.
• A Bachelor's degree in Nursing with extensive knowledge of research study design, development, and disease process is preferred.
• Certification from an appropriate accredited certifying body (e.g. ACRP or SOCRA) is strongly preferred.
