RN Staff - Pre-Op (Per Diem)

Summary of the Job

Responsible and accountable for a group of patients during a designated time frame and to provide care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation, and other health care team members. Supervises the activities of Unit Assistants.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of NLN accredited school of nursing.
• Current LA RN Licensure;
• Current BLS certifications through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross.
• The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off.
• ALS/PALS required within 6 months of hire.
• Two (2) years current strong medical-surgical, critical care or same day surgery experience required.
• Strong IVT skills preferred.

Physical Demands

• Must possess good physical health.
• Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time.
• Lifting at least 50 pounds is required.
• Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
• Physical Effort required: Constant (67%-100%) - seeing; Frequently (34%-66%)- lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, handling/feeling, talking hearing; Occasionally (1%-33%)- climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.), stooping, crouching.
