RN Staff Nurse II - General Pediatrics

About the role

This key role supports general pediatric physicians within the Division of Academic Pediatrics in providing clinical care in a dynamic outpatient setting. The position is during regular clinic hours, Monday through Friday, with no weekends.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Performs and documents assessment of the patient and family (biophysical, psychosocial, developmental, cultural, spiritual and environmental)
• Collections and analyzes data from the medical record in order to coordinate patient care
• Directs and provides patient care, which may include administering medication, performing procedures, and monitoring patient status in accordance with approved nursing practice
• Provides appropriate counsel and education to patient and family regarding disease process and symptom management
• Maintains medical records requiring appropriate and timely recording of patient information
• Consults with members of the health care team, adjusting nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Demonstrates cost-effective work habits by setting priorities and properly managing supplies and equipment
• Participates in quality improvement activities to ensure appropriate clinical outcome
• Other duties as assigned to support patient care, the department, and the division.

Education

• Required Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Completion of National Specialty Certification relevant to the area where working, if applicable; Current Missouri RN licensure in accordance with Compact Act; Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements); Advanced clinical skills (e.g., PALS, ACLS, IV Certification, Bone Marrow Biopsy).
• Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree - Nursing, M.S. - Master of Science - Nursing

Salary Range

$64,500.00 - $109,900.00 / Annually
