Responsibilities
- Affirmatively assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care based on standards of care and LCMC Health policies.
- Delegate to professional and non-professional personnel involved in the delivery of care.
- Maintain a safe environment for patients and others.
- Participate in LCMC Health's performance improvement initiatives by implementing infection control practices and participating in quality improvement activities and review/audit processes.
- Communicate effectively using appropriate channels, including updates on patient conditions, changes in status, and significant events.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient care and education.
- Advises supervisors of current or anticipated problems and completes assignments promptly.
- Utilizes age-appropriate principles of learning and collaborates with various therapists and social workers to meet patient/family educational needs.
- Continuously displays a positive attitude, treats all customers with dignity, respect, courtesy, and compassion, and addresses customer concerns or complaints.
- Maintains current knowledge in nursing practice through participation in approved continuing education and professional organizations.
Requirements
This position requires a valid license or temporary permit to practice professional nursing in Louisiana. Additional certifications include American Heart Association BLS-HCP, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale, Non-Violent Crisis Prevention (CPI, NCI-CPI), and PALS.
Qualifications
- Current licensure to practice professional nursing in Louisiana.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- National Institute of Health (NIH) Stroke Scale.
- Non-Violent Crisis Prevention (CPI, NCI-CPI).
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Skills
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Compliance with state and federal regulatory and accrediting agencies.
- Organizing, prioritizing, and coordinating patient care activities.

Pay
