RN Staff - Neonatal ICU - FT -1st Shift

About the role

Maintains established standards of care, policies, objectives, and goals in administering professional nursing care to all patients. The RN identifies patient needs and priorities for care through assessment. The RN plans and delegates care based on patient needs. The RN evaluates the patient’s response to care and the attainment of or progress toward expected outcomes. The RN is accountable for outcomes of patient care delivered during the assigned shift.

Responsibilities

• Provides critical care to premature and sick newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
• Supports parents by effectively communicating the plan of care and scope of treatment.
• Works as a team member with providers and ancillary staff to ensure newborn's critical care treatment is secure.

Requirements

• Scheduling: FT, PT, and PRN RNs will work every 3rd weekend in accordance with their weekend rotation. PRN employees are required to work 8 shifts in a 6-week period. Full-time positions will work full-time hours during the orientation period.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of a state-approved school of nursing with current Alabama or multi-state licensure.
• Experience: Experience preferred; new graduates accepted.

Additional Skill/Abilities

• BLS and NRP required and will be obtained in the orientation period.
