About the role
Maintains established standards of care, policies, objectives, and goals in administering professional nursing care to all patients. Identifies patient needs and priorities for care through assessment. Plans and delegates care based on patient needs. Evaluates the patient’s response to care and the attainment of or progress toward expected outcomes. Is accountable for outcomes of patient care delivered during the assigned shift.
Responsibilities
- Provides critical care to premature and sick newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
- Supports parents by effectively communicating the plan of care and scope of treatment.
- Works as a team member with providers and ancillary staff to ensure newborns' critical care treatment is secure.
Requirements
- Graduate of state board School of Nursing with current Alabama or multi-state licensure.
- Experience preferred; new graduates accepted.
Qualifications
- BLS and NRP required and will be obtained in the orientation period.

Pay
- FT, PT, and PRN RNs will work every 3rd weekend in accordance with their weekend rotation.
- PRN employee is required to work 8 shifts in a 6 week period.
- All hired positions will work full time hours (3 shifts each week) during the orientation period.
