RN Staff - Labor & Delivery - PT- 3rd Shift
About the role
Labor & Delivery at Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children is the highest delivering hospital in Alabama and the regional referral center for North Alabama and southern Tennessee. We have 20 Labor Rooms, 3 dedicated OR suites, and a newly renovated PACU. We also have an 11-bed high-risk Antepartum unit and the first Obstetric Emergency Department in the state, managed by our team of board-certified OB/GYN Hospitalists. We collaborate with Maternal Fetal Medicine physicians to care for a variety of patients, from managing complications during pregnancy to providing support during labor and delivery.
Responsibilities
- Care for pregnant patients during labor and obstetrical emergencies.
- Assist women throughout labor and the birthing process.
- Provide critical nursing care and comprehensive pregnancy and postpartum education.
- Identify patient needs and priorities for care through assessment.
- Plan and delegate care based on patient needs.
- Evaluate the patient's response to care and the attainment of or progress toward expected outcomes.
- Ensure outcomes of patient care delivered during the assigned shift.
Requirements
Education: Graduate of state board School of Nursing with current Alabama or multi-state licensure.
Experience: Experience preferred; new graduates accepted.
Qualifications
- BLS required before the conclusion of the orientation period.
